FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vorro and DMEhub Joined Other Industry Leaders to Improve Interoperability Standards of Healthcare Data Exchange at FHIR Connectathon 25.
Orange Park, FL, September 2020 – Vorro and DMEhub™ recently partnered as track leads for September’s virtual HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) Connectathon 25 that took place September 9th – 11th.
The specific track focused on defining a Post-Acute FHIR based Order (PAO) for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Health Services to facilitate order exchange between the ordering provider and the supplier or Home Health Agency. “The FHIR Connectathon provides a great opportunity to work with diversified vendor peers, providers and administrators, along with the organization that actually wrote the FHIR specification,” said Billy Waldrop, Chief Operations Officer at Vorro. “We are excited to be working with DMEhub. The experience, findings and relationships developed here prove invaluable, while ensuring Vorro is always at the forefront of data exchange.”
The HL7 FHIR Connectathon allows participants to come together several times each year to test implementation and enhancement of interoperability standards across the healthcare industry. This gives industry application developers the ability to practice in a controlled setting. As a result, vendors can test, come to resolution and inform the specification evolution so that true interoperability can be enabled.
Vorro has participated previously in the electronic Long-Term Services and Supports (eLTSS) track furthering the exchange of data generated during the planning and provision of long-term services and supports and is for data commonly found on LTSS service plans. Vorro will continue to participate in future sessions of Connectathon and work to position its clients to leverage FHIR standards for this use case and many others.
